Dr. Ryan L. Holmes is a scholar and writer whose work explores epistemology, systems of power, and how they shape our understanding of race, gender, and class. He earned his doctorate from Southern Methodist University, where his research focused on epistemic ignorance and the structures that sustain it. Grounded in a foundational belief that humans are storytellers, Dr. Holmes is committed to helping people think more critically about the narratives they inhabit and more clearly articulate the stories they tell about themselves and the world. His interdisciplinary work brings together narrative theory, critical race theory, and epistemology to examine how knowledge and unknowing are produced, maintained, and resisted. Ignorance by Design is his first book.
