Biography
Colm McAuliffe is a film curator and writer based in the UK. He is currently a researcher on the award-winning Make Film History project which has opened up film archives from the BBC, BFI and many more for creative reuse by young and emerging filmmakers and artists across the UK and Ireland. He is also a film programmer for film festivals across the education and arthouse sphere and has curated large-scale touring programmes of intellectual ideas on 1960s/1970s/1980s television which have received significant national media coverage. He has also written on film, and other aspects of culture, for The Guardian, Sight & Sound, New Statesman and many more and has many years experience working with the British Film Institute on numerous projects, most significantly in devising and producing the award-winning Unfilmables event which commissioned Mica Levi and Stephen Mallinder to create live soundtracks to films which do not exist.
