Matthijs Lok is Senior Lecturer in Modern European History at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands and a Senior Fellow of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies. He is the co-editor, along with Ido de Haan, of The Politics of Moderation in Modern European History (2019) and, with Marjet Brolsma and Robin de Bruin, Eurocentrism in European History and Memory (2019).
