Endometriosis is a chronic, progressive, full body disease where cells similar to the lining of the womb are found elsewhere in the body. It can cause debilitating pain, infertility, crippling mental health distress and, in some cases, even organ failure. Although it is as common as asthma or diabetes, endometriosis is barely covered in medical schools, leaving sufferers repeatedly dismissed, even mocked, when trying to access medical care.
