Elzbieta Muskat-Tabakowska is Professor Emerita at Jagiellonian University of Kraków, Poland. She specializes in in cognitive linguistics and translation studies and is the founder of the UNESCO Chair for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication at the Jagiellonian University. Tabakowska is a linguist, translator, poet, and author of over two hundred published scholarly articles and three collections of poems, including Cognitive Linguistics and Poetics of Translation (1993).
