Biography

Elena Vogman is a writer and historian of media. She is a Freigeist Fellow of the Volkswagen Foundation and Principal Investigator of the research project “Madness, Media, Milieus: Reconfiguring the Humanities in Postwar Europe” at Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany. Her current work focuses on the histories of madness and labour and their intersections with decolonial discourse, psychoanalysis, feminism, and institutional psychotherapy. She is the author of two books, Sinnliches Denken: Eisensteins exzentrische Methode (2018) and Dance of Values: Sergei Eisenstein’s Capital Project (2019). Her writing has appeared in journals including October, Grey Room, Radical Philosophy, and e-flux journal, where she is a contributing editor.
